Nonminated MP's

I just saw that Singapore have this thing called Nominated MP's. I think this is really funny. It is almost like the so called Democratic party in Thailand. They don't trust the people and so they want 50% of the MP's to be nominated and 50% to be elected.

In Singapore, the the PAP already have a huge majority. I think their are only one or two non PAP MP's. However to safe guard any chance of the opposition ever gaining a majority, they have this thing called a nominated MP. I did read that these nominated MP's are suppose to be non partisan, wink wink.

MP is like a congressmen. Means member of Parliment. PAP is like democrats and republicans. Stands for People's Action Party. If you talk to a taxi driver, they will say it stands for Pay and Pay.
