Michael Moore Is A Dumb Ass

Hind sight is 20/20. Now that GM had declared bankruptcy it is easy to go back and say I told you so, but even the reasoning that Micheal gives is stupid and off base.

Micheal Moore states that the reason "because of company ineptitude and disregard for its workers" He is critical of GM closing down plants and laying off workers that are the ones that would be buying GM cars.

The reason that GM failed is because they were TOO generous to the workers. GM was simply not competitive anymore. Because of the generous pension play, it cost GM $2500 more per car to produce because of the legacy pension issue.

Because GM is so generous and because the UAW so powerful, GM spends more money on medical insurance for it's employees than it does on metal.

GM failed because they kept brands thereby keeping people employed. These brands were not profitable.

GM failed because of the lack of credit to buy cars.

People criticise big corporations because they only look after the stock holders. They criticize GM because they closed down a factory and a few thousand people lost their jobs. Now, GM is bankrupt and now tens of thousands of people will lose their jobs. This is what happens when a company becomes a social welfare company, they go bankrupt and now more people will suffer.

If you want to blame someone, blame the UAW.
