Cerveza Mas Fina

For the past week Simple Girl and I have been indulging in a guilty sin. It has been so hot in Singapore lately and I have re-introduced her to Corona. I normally feel that Corona taste pretty bad by itself, but if you put a lemon it it, it taste quite good. Almost like lemonade. Beer is expensive in Singapore. A six pack will cost you $15 Sing and a six pack of corona will run 19 Sing which is almost 3 dollar a beer. I guess I justify it by saying that it is only 50 cents more than Tiger.

Actually this is one of the area's which bugs me which is the beer selection. If you go to a bar or restaurant, you will pretty much only have a few choices of beers on tap. Tiger, Heineken, Carlsberg or Guinness.

Don't get me wrong. I am not an alcoholic. I enjoy my brew. I like an ice cold bear especially on a hot day and in Singapore, there are a lot of hot days.

I think part of it is the system. I have not verified this and so this may not be true. Singapore has only given one brewing license to F&N which owns Asia Pacific Brewery which owns Tiger and the Heineken brewing in Singapore. This gives them a unfair advantage and to date only Carlsberg and Guinness are widely available and they are not brewed in Singapore.

I think that there is a business opportunity here.
