Free Tibet!

I have not blogged for a long time. Have been pretty busy, but saw something on the TV that I must post.

China took selected reports to Tibet on a PR tour to show all the damage that was done by the rioters and took them to the hospital to see the injured. This was all a shame. The press tour took them to a temple, but 30 or so monks, closed the doors behind the reports before the Chinese security could come in. They were all crying. They said that the monks outside are all imposters from the communist party. They said that China said the monks were behind the rioting but they were not. They say that the Dali Lama is behind everything but he is not. They said they have been imprisoned for 2 weeks and could not go out. They just want freedom.

These monk will lose thier lives for this outburst. I search a long time today to look for the video of the actual monk dialog instead of western translations of what they said. The translations takes all the emotion out of it. This HK report was the best that I could find.

Moses Was On Drugs

Wow, another interesting story today. This is also very surprising because of the source. A professor in Israel from Hebrew University in Jerusalem.

He claims that Moses must have been on some kind of acid trip when he saw the burning bush and when he got the ten commandments on Mount Sinai. Groovy!

United We Stand, Divided We Fall

The US elections has become very interesting this year. Last week, they were talking about Clinton droping out of the race but after wins in Ohio and Texas, Clinton is back in the thick of things. So a few thoughts:

1. They will go into the democratic convention with no clear front runner. The convention is used to promote their candidate but this convention will still be used to fight among themselves in the democratic party. McCain is loving this.

2. Saw a article that Clinton is now declaring herself the front runner again. Hasn't she been paying attention for the last 3 months. Everytime a front runner goes into an election, they have lost. American's loves the underdog. They should hire me as the campaign manager.

3. Not only are the democratic candidates sling mud at each other and spending precious campaign dollars within their own party. McCain is in a position to save his funds to fight the democrats. In a national poll, McCain would lose to Obama in a one on one election but he would win against Clinton. So if you think about it, a vote for Clinton is a vote for McCain. Hmmmm.

All I can say is that it is very interesting.

If the Breast Doesn't Fit, You Must Acquit

Hahaha. This is just too funny for anybody to make up.

A model in Japan was charged from breaking into a man's house and destroying his property. The case was overruled because, it was ruled that the model's breast was too big to fit into the hole.

Johnny Cochran must be having a chuckle over this case in his grave.

Alternative Energy

I am convinced that we are all doomed to a life of muscular thighs. Why do I say this? In 30 years when the worlds reserves in energy runs out, we won't have any viable alternative energy sources and so to watch TV or get lights, we will have to pedal bikes to generate power. Hmmm, that's a business idea. I will get bunch of children from a 3rd world country and start training them to pedal bikes now. In 20 years, they will be in high demand. A kid in every house!

Anyways I digress.

Just wanted to update you on my alternative energy tally

Nuclear - Environmentalist against because of the nuclear waste
Biofuel - Turns out to be carbon negative because the forest that is chopped down to grow these plants

And now the latest

Wind Farms - Turns out it will cause the extinction of many bird species.

We are now down to solar until some activist shoot that down also, than my biker plan will be set!

Damm! It is Confirmed. I am Old!

I read something on the internet today that made me go and do a search to confirm that the statement is true.

It said that the last Indiana Jones movie was 19 years ago. I read this and I thought, no way. Impossible. I still remember Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade like it was yesterday.(By the way, it was the best movie of the Trillogy) True. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade was release in 1989.

I am happy that Steven Speilberg and George Lucas has brought this character back. I am curious how an 66 year old Harrison Ford will be in the role. At 65 you qualify for the AARP.

The story says that the trailer are very popular with the young people. Which also make me wonder, how do they even know who Indiana Jones is because if you 18 years old now, when the last movie came out, you weren't even born yet.

Too bad it's Monday. I have an urge of going clubing tonight.

Anyways, here's the trailer.

TJ of Asia

In the past I have always said that Bangkok was the TJ of Asia. After coming back from Manila, I have changed my mind.

I didn't see much of Manila. Only from Airport to Hotel and back and Hotel to Church and back.

What I did see was about 2000 police in full riot gear, trash everywhere, dirty empty buildings, and people everywhere. The rest of the bridal party went to party at Makati, but I felt much happier just staying in my hotel room. Maybe I am getting old. I normally like to travel to taste the local cuisine, but nothing looked tempting to me. Luckily, the hotel was connected to a large shopping mall or else, I would have never left the hotel other than the church. Manila would not be on my top vacation spots.

So Manila is officially my new TJ of Asia and they even speak Spanish.

Hamas is Killing It's Own People

I believe in the right of self determination. This is what the how the US was formed. Recently, 80% of the population of Kosovo declared independance from Serbia. Also as part of of the land for peace deal between Isreal and the Palestinian's, Isreal allowed the West Bank and the Gaza Strip to self rule. But this freedom does come with a price. If you want to declare that you are an independant country, you have to make sure that you are econonmically vaiable. You must make sure that you have a means of generating income and that your population is taken care of. Also, than other countries has the right to treat you as a independant country. And so if they wish, they can close off their borders to your country.

This is what has happened to Isreal and the Gaza Stripe. Because too much arms and terrorist were going through the borders, Isreal closed the border. They did this to protect their own population from Homocide Bombers. It is the responsibility of the government to protect their own people first. So this has caused the Gaza strip to lose one of their connections to the outside world. Their other border with their fellow muslims Eygpt has been closed also.

So Hamas recently started to send rockets into Isreal, which had hurt and killed civilians. This starts a chain of events that we have seen in the past. Isreal will be forced to do something because their people lacks security. Which they now have done. They have went into Gaza to locate these rockets and to put down the Hamas infrastructure. Of coarse innocent lives will be lost, but when Hamas fired the rockets, they already know this. They also already know that the world would than start criticising Isreal for killing civilians and the world would some how forget that it was Hamas who started the entire chain of events by firing rockets in the frist place. In the end, Isreal will look like the bad guy.
