Friar Tuck

This weekend I went with Simple Girl and her family for a nice dinner. The elevator came and the entire Simple Girl Clan crammed into one elevator. I was the last one to squeeze in. I had my camera and decided to take an overhead shot of the entire family. I was facing the elevator doors and so I took the camera over my head and took a shot over and behind my head.

Last night I downloaded the picture and was in for a shock. I am Friar Tuck. It is like the expanding Ozone hole. I have this huge bald spot in the back of my head. Simple Girl has been telling me about it but when I touch the area, it still feels like I have a lot of hair there.

I think it is time to shave my head again.

Bifocals Lenses

In Chinese it is called "Old Flower Eyes" I don't know what the term is in English, only that when people get older they need reading glasses.

I am pretty special. I have been diagnoses with "Old Flower Eyes" since I was 3 years old and have been wearing glasses ever since I can remember.

My glasses has never been perfect. For distance I need a lighter prescription and for reading I needed a more powerful one. So what the doctors did in the past was to give me a compromise prescription in the middle. So all my life, I could really see far or near.

Last week I decided to go and get new glasses and for I while now I decided that I don't want to compromise anymore. I wanted to have the best of both worlds. I have been doing some study. Gone are the bifocal days. There is no more lines. The new lenses are now called progressive. It is bifocal without the lines. While in the examination room I asked for progressive lenses and was told that it was possible, but did get a small shock. The lenses were 500 dollars. After Simple Girl did some negotiating, we got it for 425, all in.

I picked up my glasses this weekend and I love them. I feel like I have new eyes.

Singapore Idol

I know. I know. My brother will make fun of me again. Last night I watched Singapore Idol. In my defence, Simple Girl made me watch. That is not the point of this blog. I would like to report a crime. A capital offence, punishable by the death penalty. One of the contestants butchered one of the greatest songs of all time. Imagine by John Lennon.

Why? Why do they do this? Why would they rearrange a perfect song? Would somebody alter a painting by Picasso, Monet or Van Goh? Would somebody put a bigger smile on the Mona Lisa? Would someone enlarge the penis on Michelangelo's David? NOOOOOOOO!!!!!! Ok, I can understand some minor adjustments, a higher note here or an extended note there, but this guy changed the song completely. My ears wanted to scream. It was so bad, I had to play the song for Simple Girl right afterwards and she ask. "That's the same song?"

Please somebody report that guy to the police.

Self Censorship

Surfing the news I saw a picture. I thought this pictured looked really funny and wanted to blog about it, but I decided the better coarse of action was self censorship because of where I live. Just sad. It would have been funny.

Indonesia Bans Tight Pants

Malaysia does not have a monopoly on stupid laws. Indonesia just came up with a good one.

They have now banned women from wearing tight pants. I think this is an assault on poor fat people. What if you put on a few pounds and can't afford to buy new pants?

How will they measure what is considered tight? So maybe if you can see a pantie line. But than what if the woman goes commando or wear a G-string. This may be a new term in Singapore, maybe it is a ban on Camel Toes.

Who will enforce this law? Will the police stop woman and do a two finger check?

Why do they make these laws? It just opens themselves up to ridicule.

Singapore TV

I was looking over the TV guide and saw a show titled "Hot Guys That Cook"

I thought to myself, that this is reverse discrimination. You will never find a show that is "Hot Girls that Cook" I think in Singapore that this is just as rare. In fact in Singapore, it is rare just to find a girl that can cook without being "Hot"

PS

Why do I do these blogs? I get a feeling that after Simple Girl reads this blog that I will surely be in the dog house.

Singapore Commercial

Last night while watching TV a commercial came on. They were advertising a seminar put on by Channel News Asia. The seminar was tittled "Make Sense To Make Money" There was nothing special about this commercial. I was not interested in going, but towards the end of the commercial, it says. "Thank you for your great support. Due to overwhelming response, this event has already been sold out"

What? If it is sold out, why are you still airing commercials. I think now that they are just rubbing it in.
